About Us
I've called the Bay Area home for 12 years, and in all that time, I’ve been searching for bookish friends to share a love of reading, writing, and bookstore hopping.
Books have always been an integral part of my life. I have a Masters Degree in English Literature focused on Renaissance Lit, was an English Composition professor, working in marketing for a publishing house, and was the Director of Communications for the Shakespeare Theater of Chicago. Today, my professional life has moved away from literature, but I continue to read 100+ books a year and am happiest when surrounded by books with other readers.
The Bookish Bay Brigade was born out of the belief that even something as solitary as reading is better with friends!
I truly believe that a single book can change a person, and a group of readers can change the world.
